We can’t say enough about Jackie’s responsiveness, dedication, creativity, and expert knowledge of the SLT area! She made buying a vacation home in this hot market a truly positive experience from beginning to end. Here’s what stood out to us:
1. Super responsive
From our first conversation, Jackie was extremely helpful in listening to our preferences and steering us toward neighborhoods and properties where we could get the most for our second-home budget—even in a market where there were no true “deals” to be had. She was quick to respond whenever we had a question or idea, even after hours or on weekends, and she was our cheerleader whenever we got discouraged about the search. Just a really positive, authentic person to work with!
2. Great connections & expertise
Jackie went above and beyond to get us the first tours (in person and via FaceTime) of properties we were interested in. She’s well-informed about the in-town and county neighborhoods of the South Tahoe area, current vacation rental laws, homeowners associations, etc. She has good working relationships with local selling agents and was often able to find out key information about new listings that helped us decide whether to offer and how to write our bid. Each property was slightly different (bank-owned; former vacation rental; etc.), and Jackie structured our offers creatively for each of those different situations. On the house we eventually purchased, her timely and upfront communication with the sellers’ agent truly made the difference for us.
3. A pro at escrow
Of course, finding the right house is only half the battle! The escrow process with its mountain of (digital) paperwork was much easier because Jackie and her colleagues at Team Blair worked so seamlessly with our broker and the local SLT title company. She kept in close contact with both us and the sellers all the way through our move-in date, allowing us to get a head-start on some work we wanted to do to the property. She also had good recommendations for a local contractor, snow removal company, etc.
